High-voltage electrical work in Tbilisi
High voltage needs different protection, different tools and different rules from a flat's wiring. At industrial and commercial sites Labex installs three-phase 380 V supplies and power distribution boards, and maintains 6-10 kV lines and transformers.
- Three-phase 380 V supply and load balancing
- Power distribution boards and cabinets: assembly and repair
- Maintenance of 6-10 kV lines and transformers
- Tracing the cause of voltage drops and surges
- Voltage relay and stabiliser installation
- Checking the power supply of an industrial or commercial site

When do you need a high-voltage electrician?
When a site needs a three-phase supply or the existing one is no longer enough; a power board heats up, hums or trips under load; the voltage is uneven across the phases and motors or machines stop; the voltage jumps and equipment fails; or your own transformer and 6-10 kV line are due for maintenance. A burning smell, sparks or a hot busbar is urgent: keep away from the board and call.
How does Labex work on high voltage?
- Site inspection: the supply, the boards, the load and the existing protection
- Measurement: voltage on each phase, load distribution and the state of the contacts
- A work plan and an estimate before starting, with the shutdown time agreed
- Work is done only on a line that is switched off and tested dead
- Switching back on, re-measuring and handover
For a flat or office board, see distribution board assembly. Labex finds a damaged spot on a power line by measurement, the same way it finds a damaged point in a flat. If the board is hot or sparking right now, call the emergency electrician. A retail unit or warehouse nearly always needs a three-phase supply: see the electrician in Didube, and for workshops the electrician in Krtsanisi and Ponichala.
What high-voltage work does Labex do?
High voltage needs different protection, different tools and different rules from a flat's wiring. At industrial and commercial sites Labex installs three-phase 380 V supplies and power distribution boards, and maintains 6-10 kV lines and transformers.
How quickly does the electrician arrive?
Labex takes emergency calls first and handles most requests in Tbilisi the same day. Average response time is 30 minutes.
Where does Labex work?
Labex works across Tbilisi, in every district, and in the areas just outside the city.
What counts as high voltage?
In everyday speech people often call the three-phase 380 V network high voltage: it is what feeds factories, workshops and retail sites. Technically, high voltage starts above 1,000 V: the 6 kV and 10 kV lines and the transformers that step the network down to 380/220 V. Labex works on both kinds of site.
Can a three-phase supply be brought into a flat or a private house?
Yes, if the capacity is agreed with the network company. The network company connects the three-phase supply, and Labex prepares the property side: the incoming cable, the three-phase board, the breakers and protection, with the load balanced evenly across the phases.
The voltage jumps and appliances fail. What should be done?
The cause has to be found first: unstable voltage can come from the network or arise inside the property, for example from a loose neutral wire. Labex measures the voltage at the supply and at the board, and depending on the result recommends a voltage relay, a stabiliser or a repair to the line.
What does maintenance of 6-10 kV lines and transformers include?
On 6-10 kV Labex inspects and measures power transformers, cleans and replaces insulators, checks and replaces high-voltage fuses, adjusts and repairs disconnectors, and fits the power cabinet on the transformer's low-voltage side. The electrician tells you the scope after inspecting the site.
Which is better: a voltage relay or a stabiliser?
A voltage relay does not correct the voltage: it cuts the line when the voltage leaves the safe range and protects equipment from surges. A stabiliser corrects the voltage and is needed where it is constantly low or uneven. Labex measures first and then recommends which one you need.
